What Music and Massachusetts Policy Have in Common
At 27 South Strategies, we’ve seen that the ideas that move on Beacon Hill are the ones people can see themselves in. A recent conversation with Craig Finn reinforced why storytelling is often the difference between a proposal that stalls and one that advances.
Science Club for Girls: Connecting STEM Equity to Workforce Investment
In my line of work, most people see the outcome, not the process. Behind every bill signing, budget win, or policy success is a deliberate strategy, shaped over time from development through execution. Our work with Science Club for Girls (SCFG) followed that same path this session.
Turning Mission into State Investment and Policy Leadership
By bringing together organizations working at different points along the talent pipeline, from advanced math preparation to mentorship and leadership development, Thrive Scholars helped highlight a broader ecosystem working to ensure that students with extraordinary potential have access to the opportunities they deserve.
Whatever you do, take care of your … socks?!
Most people never notice my socks, but if you know, you know. A few weeks ago, I attended a summit with business leaders, government officials, and academics. Backstage, the CEO of a tech company spotted my socks immediately. He got it. We spent 30 minutes geeking out about Phish and then set up a follow-up meeting to talk business.

That’s where Science Club for Girls shines.
“Thrive Scholars Changed My Life.”
"Thrive Scholars completely changed my life."
These words, spoken by a first-year Harvard student, are more than just a testimonial—they’re a testament to resilience, opportunity, and the power of community.
Thank you Paul
Paul was not a household name, but he would be in a just world. He may never get a statue commissioned, but I am pretty sure he would be just fine with that. But what would he say right now? I am pretty sure he would point to the Grateful Dead and say: Keep Truckin’.
Rise/Come Together
Today began like most days: I laced up my beaten-up yellow running shoes, strapped on my iPhone-laden arm band, and set out on my neighborhood run.
Getting to know me
I know that when you make a choice in representation, you are placing your business reputation in my hands. That is a weighty obligation and one that I will zealously protect. While I take our work together very seriously, I don’t take myself too seriously. Here are a few random facts about me that you might like to know:
